A Biblical view of Giving
Understanding God's heart for generosity
GOD...
- Owns it all (Psalm 24:1; 50:10-12).
- Is our model for generosity. Not only does he give us life and every resource we have, but he also gave us the righteousness of Jesus Christ through his death in our place on the cross (John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 8:9).
THEREFORE WE...
- Are called to steward what He has entrusted to us (Matthew 25:14-30).
- Are called to give him our first and best (Genesis 4:3-5; Proverbs 3:6-9).
- Give cheerfully and with grateful hearts (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
